An anonymous collector with a passion for white sports cars made headlines as their carefully curated Porsche collection recently commanded an impressive $30 million at auction. Known as the "white collection," this remarkable assembly featured over 50 vehicles, showcasing some of the finest models from the iconic German brand.
The auction, held over two days, included 56 cars and numerous Porsche collectibles, attracting considerable interest from enthusiasts and collectors alike. Despite the owner’s identity remaining a mystery, their commitment to white-hued automobiles was evident in every selection.
Highlighting the auction was the stunning 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder, finished in a rare paint-to-sample Grand Prix White and equipped with the lightweight Weissach package.
Initially estimated to fetch between $2.5 million and $3 million, it soared to an astounding $3.9 million—30% above the high estimate—making it one of the sale's standout pieces.
Several other Porsches also broke the seven-figure barrier, including a 1997 Porsche 911 GT2—one of just 17 sent to Japan—and the last 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.8, both surpassing $2 million. The collection’s most affordable entry, a 1977 Porsche 924 "Martini Championship Edition," sold for $29,120.
Additionally, a rare 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.0, featuring unique gold graphics, remains available through the auction house, offering a second chance for buyers.
This extraordinary event not only showcases the allure of the Porsche brand but also highlights the collector's keen eye for quality and rarity.
