Among the coveted lots, an exquisite 18-karat yellow gold watch crafted by the iconic George Daniels steals the spotlight. Named the Millennium and dating back to 1999, this rare piece showcases an engine-turned silvered dial adorned with black Roman numerals, outer minute markers, and a striking gold subsidiary dial at six o’clock designed for calendar markers. A notable hallmark of this masterpiece is Daniels' patented co-axial escapement. With only 50 known examples in existence, this exclusive timepiece is estimated to fetch a minimum of $755,000 at the auction.

Recognized as a leading figure in the realm of luxury mechanical watches, George Daniels's legacy as an English horologist is unparalleled. Famed for meticulously handcrafting complete watches and pioneering the co-axial escapement, he dedicated over 2,500 hours to fashion signature timepieces, crafting only 37 individual watches under his name and collaborating with Roger W. Smith to produce 50 Millenniums and 35 Anniversary watches. His passing in 2011 marked the culmination of an extraordinary era in horology, leaving behind a legacy of unparalleled excellence. The Millennium timepiece offered in this auction stands as a prized treasure for discerning collectors in the realm of horology.


The auction boasts several remarkable items. Among them is the Cartier Crash Ref. 015-91, a standout 18-karat yellow gold timepiece from the Paris 1991 edition, anticipated to surpass $150,000. Another highlight is the F.P. Journe Souverain Dead-Second Tourbillon Ref. 05-TN featuring remontoir (constant force), crafted in platinum and estimated to exceed a quarter million. Additionally, a Rolex Comex Submariner Ref. 5514, a rare stainless steel reference, is set to hit the block with a minimum expected value of a quarter million dollars.



The upcoming Bonhams New Bond Street Fine Watches Sale is set for Wednesday, December 13, starting at 2:00 p.m. local time (9:00 a.m. EST). Previews commence on Sunday, December 10, running from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The previews continue on Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, December 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., just ahead of the auction.
